Entry / exit card

When foreigners enter Brazil, they have to fill out an immigration form. You have to fill in the aim of your stay (e.g. ‘tourism’). This information is used to determine whether you need a visa and whether you have the right visa. You also have to fill in the address were you will stay. People who plan to find a hotel locally generally fill in the first one they will try. People who will stay in various hotels generally fill in their first.

A stamped carbon copy of this form will be your entry/exit card. Keep this with your passport as it is an important document. You have to return it to the customs when you leave Brazil.

If you loose this document or if it is stolen, you have to report this to the police.
