Carbondioxide (CO2) is a gas that is often released when energy is produced. It is scientifically proven that CO2 is responsible for global heating. Since March 6th, 2007, DonaBrasil.com is Carbon Neutral. That means that the Carbon use of this website is compensated by planting trees.
Cleanbits.nl takes care for the compensation of the CO2 emision by DonaBrasil.com. The forests that Cleanbits uses to compensate CO2 emisions are managed by the Face Foundation. This foundation has planted forests in Uganda, Malaysia and Ecuador with the aim to reduce global heating. These forests are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council to guarantee sustainable forest management. The independent organisation SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance) is responsible for reliable measurement and certification of the amounts of C02 that are absorbed by these forests. Triodos Climate Clearing House registers the total amount of CO2 that is absorbed by these forests. This compensation is expressed in Carbon credits.
