Guava (Goiaba)
 Guave or goiaba is an apple-shaped fruit with a diameter of 3 to 12 centimetres (1,1 to 4,7 inch). The colour is yellow, green, pink or red. The flesh is creamy white to pink. Guave has a characteristic flavour and perfume. It is used in desserts and in drinks. Goiabada is a guave jam. A slice of this jam with queijo de minas (a kind of cheese) is called Romeu e Julieta (Romeo and Julia). |
