Geography
Brazil belongs to the 5 largest countries of the world. It covers an area of more than 8,5 million km². It is the largest country of South-America, comprising more than half of this continent. Distances are enormous: 4320 km from North to South and 4326 km from West to East. Brazil has boundaries with all South American countries except for Chile and Ecuador. Its capital is Brasília. Climate
Because of its size, Brazil stretches over various climate zones. In the Amazon, it is always warm and it rains throughout the year. The South has a subtropical climate. Wildlife
The Brazilian wildlife is unique and it is still unspoiled in many areas. About 20% of the world's biodiversity is found in this country. This includes about 50000 species of plants, thousands of species of birds, millions of insects and rare mammals. Culture
The Brazilian culture results from a mixture of European, Amerindian, African and Asian cultures. Customs and rituals from various parts of the world have blended into a new culture that is typically Brazilian. Religion

Flag
The Brazilian flag is green with a large yellow rhombus in the centre. In this yellow rhombus is a blue celestial globe with 27 white five-pointed stars. Each star represents one of the states and the Federal District. The stars are arranged according to the night sky of Rio de Janeiro at the day of independence. National Anthem
